It doesn’t matter what source port you prefer, you’re still playing classic DOOM! KUDOS! I’ve tried them all. As a Linux user, I’ve tried Chocolate DOOM. As a Windows user, I’ve tried just about every flavor out there. Some ports rival the efforts of modern commercially released product. There’s something out there for everyone!

I came onto the scene fairly late in understanding that there was a community out there, taking things to the next level. I’ve filled many a hard drive with DOOM resources, wads, and models. Over the years, some ports have stood the test of time better than others. While I still play a handful of ports, I’ve come to settle into the idea that my favorite mod is … Well, why don’t you join me as a spectator as my son D plays the classic level Ep1_L1/L2 and I’ll tell you why I feel so strongly about this specific Doom Mod!
